Youth Service

Rotary Youth Service is a comprehensive set of programs initiated by Rotary International with the primary goal of fostering leadership skills, cultural understanding and a commitment to community service among young individuals. The overarching aim of Rotary Youth Service is to instill a sense of responsibility, leadership and service in the younger generation, creating pipeline of individuals dedicated to making a difference in their communities and beyond. By providing opportunities for international exchange, fostering local community engagement, and nurturing leadership development, Rotary Youth Service contributes significantly to the growth and development of socially conscious and globally aware young leaders. 

As a vibrant club, Rotary Club of Bali Taman implemented the Rotary Youth Service within their communities. These program includes :

ROTARACT

Rotaract is a global movement that brings together young professionals and students aged 18+ to engage in community service, leadership development and networking. It served as a platform for young adults to collaborate on service projects that adress societal challengers from environmental issued to healthcare. Rotary Club of Bali Taman sponsors 3 (three) Rotaract Clubs in Bali namely : Rotaract Club of Bali Taman, Rotaract Club of Bali Barong and Rotaract Club of Bali Kecak. All three of them are still operational up to this day. 

INTERACT

Rotary Interact is a dynamic and youth-focused component of Rotary Youth Service, specifically designed for high school students aged 12-18. Interact clubs provide a platform for young individuals to come together, collaborate, and actively participate in community service projects. Interact aims to develop leadership skills, encourage teamwork and instill a strong sense of social responsibility in its members. Rotary Club of Bali Taman sponsored 3 (three) Interact Clubs in Bali, namely : Interact Club of Bali Jimbaran, Interact Club of SKANEMA and Interact Club of Janger. 

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE

Rotary Club of Bali Taman participate in the program of Rotary Youth Exchange. This program is a transformative program within Rotary Youth Service that facilitates cultural immersion and international understanding among young people. The program allows high school students to spend an academic year, semester or a term living in a foreign country, experiencing new culture and attending the local school. 

During the program, Rotary Club of Bali Taman members would be the host families for the Inbound Student, providing the participant a home away from home. On the other side, the club also send the Outbound Student to go abroad and have a good host family during their stay overseas. 

There are many successful stories in Rotary Club of Bali Taman as the host of RYE students, some of them are still in touch with the club to this day. By living and studying abroad, students develop lifelong friendships, language skills, and a deep appreciation for diversity. This unique experience not only enriches the lives of the youth involved and the foster families but also contributes to Rotary International’s overarching goal of fostering peace and understanding on a global scale. 

ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards ( RYLA ) is an impactful program initiated by Rotary International, designed to empower and develop leadership potential of young individuals. Geared toward young adults aged 14 – 30, RYLA provides platform for participants to enhances their leadership skills through a series of workshops, team-building activities and international speakers. The program focuses on instilling values such as integrity, community service, and effective communication. RYLA creates an environment where participants can interact with like-minded peers, learn from experienced mentors, and gain valuable insights into ethical leadership. 

Rotary District 3420 conducted RYLA yearly and Rotary Club of Bali Taman always joins the program by sponsoring youth to join. 

ROTARY CLUB OF BALI TAMAN YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING

This program comprises the smaller scale of RYLA, that is regularly conducted by Rotary Club of Bali Taman since 2020. A one day workshop and team-building activities served for members of Rotaract and Interact Clubs, as well as their prospective members. In this program the youth clubs get a chance to introduce themselves in order to attract more members to join their club. This fun yet engaging program is designed not only to develop essential leadership skills but also to create an atmosphere of enthusiasm and collaboration. Through games, role-playing, and challenges, young leaders not only absorb key concepts of effective leadership but also discover the value of adaptability, communication, team work, and at the same time learning some new skill.
